Isfahan Is half of the world. This is what the people of Isfahan say about their city (Esfahān nesf-e- jahān). Because Isfahan is considered always as the center of art, civility and industry; It can be seen through the Persian gardens, beautiful turquoise domes, the Bazaar, the buildings and the beautiful large mosques that have adorned the whole city. Being the capital of the Persian Empire under the Safavid dynasty between the 15th and 17th centuries, today Isfahan is the fourth largest city in Iran. This city is located in the center of Iran, in 340 kilometers south of Tehran. Isfahan is considered as one of the main cities which is comprised the monuments of the Islamic world, among them: The Royal Square or meidan-e Imam which was inscribed on the list of the World Heritage of UNESCO since 1979.
